Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary:

Earnings Data: Hours, rates, and time entries — stored locally on your device indefinitely until you delete them
Location Data: GPS coordinates for geofencing features — processed locally, never sent to our servers, retained only while feature is enabled
Device Info: Device type, OS version, and app version — retained up to 24 months for troubleshooting
Analytics: Anonymous usage patterns via our own telemetry service — retained up to 24 months
Crash Reports: Error diagnostics via Sentry — retained up to 90 days

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal bases:

Contract Performance: Processing earnings data and time entries to provide the core app functionality you requested
Consent: Location-based features (geofencing auto clock-in/out) — you explicitly enable this and can withdraw consent anytime
Legitimate Interest: Anonymous analytics and crash reporting to maintain app quality and fix bugs, balanced against minimal privacy impact due to anonymization

3. Location Data

Location features are entirely optional. If enabled, we use your location to automatically clock you in/out at work. Location data is processed on-device and not sent to our servers. You can disable location access anytime in your device Settings.

4. Data Storage

Your data lives on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's encryption. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

Apple Inc.: App Store transactions, payments, and iCloud sync services
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.): Crash reports and error diagnostics to help us fix bugs — data is anonymized
Our Backend Services: Anonymous telemetry data to improve app quality — no personal identifiers are transmitted
Legal Authorities: If required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

Access: View all your data in the app
Export: Download your data as CSV
Delete: Remove any or all entries from app settings
Opt-out: Disable analytics via device privacy settings

7. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA: the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. We do not sell or share your personal information for behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. To exercise your rights, email privacy@payticker.app.

8. European Economic Area Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under GDPR:

Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data directly in the app
Right to Erasure: Delete your data from Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data
Right to Restrict Processing: Disable specific features like analytics or location
Right to Data Portability: Export your data as CSV from the app
Right to Object: Opt out of analytics processing at any time
Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke location permissions via device Settings
Right to Lodge a Complaint: Contact your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated

International Transfers: Crash reports processed by Sentry may be transferred to the United States. Sentry maintains appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses. All other data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

9. Children's Privacy

PayTicker is not intended for children under 16 in the EEA or under 13 elsewhere. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us to have it deleted.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
